Drum reclaimers for coal handling from top state company of China
The drum reclaimers, traveling a horizontal runway, are designed to
service parallel storage piles in bidirectional operation in an
open stockpiles/yard type storage. The must have 3,500 tons per
hour capacity to handle <300 mm sized coal.
The drum travels on rails on four undercarriages. The travel drive
is realized using 8 drive units (2 per undercarriage). The
undercarriages are equipped with rail tongs, one per rail, to
secure the during out-of-operation wind, and with rail cleaner on
both sides of the travel.
The drive unit consists of a gearbox with a servomotor controlled
by a frequency converter. This servomotor operates in all the
required ranges of travel speed, thus it is not necessary to use
both independent motors for operation and transport traveling. The
drive units are mounted vertically on the external traveling wheels
of the undercarriages. Incremental sensors are used for the
accurate positioning of the machine.
The spreading device provides a transverse oscillating movement,
thereby it spreads a surface layer of material and shapes a profile
of material on the stockyard to ensure uniform filling of buckets.
A spreading device tilting angle can be manually adjusted depending
on an actual state of material distribution on the stockyard. The
machine is fitted with two spreading devices, one per side of the
machine’s travel direction.
The substructures functionally connected to the drum consist of a
rail track, electric supply cables, water supply hoses for the
sprinkler system, and end bumpers.
The major steel structure is of welded construction made of steel
plate or sectional steel and is of sufficient strength, rigidity,
and stability. High strength grip bolts shall be used for site
assembly of the major large steel structure members to facilitate
the erection and pick-up points / lifting eyes are provided for
each structural member to facilitate transportation and handling
operations. All structures and mechanisms are designed to bear the
dynamic load, static load, horizontal load, and impact load.
Besides the calculation for strength, rigidity, and fatigue, the
calculation for the whole and partial stability shall be done as
well. Each mechanism and component is designed to be of good
performance and strength and also interchangeable to the extent
feasible. Those wearing parts will be designed to be easily checked
and replaced.
